The Phoenix Suns add one of the best shooters available on the market. According to Shams Charania, Luke Kennard has agreed to a two-year, $13 million deal with the Arizona franchise, with a player option in the second year.
Kennard arrives in Phoenix after a highly efficient 2025/26 season with the Los Angeles Lakers. The shooting guard appeared in 78 games, averaging 8.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 21.5 minutes per game, standing out particularly for his outstanding 47.8% from three-point range, the best percentage in the league during the regular season.
His addition addresses a clear need for the Suns: adding perimeter threat, spacing and scoring from the bench unit. Kennard doesn't need much ball movement to be effective and can punish any defensive help thanks to his quick release and reliability from the corners.
Phoenix thus acquires a proven specialist at a reasonable price, with a short and flexible contract. For a team that needed to better surround its main offensive weapons, Kennard's arrival represents a safe bet in one of the most important areas of the modern game.
