Mac McClung could be one of the most prominent names on the European market. According to BasketNews, several EuroLeague clubs and major teams across the continent have shown interest in the American point guard, who increasingly sees Europe as a viable option to continue his career.
McClung, 27 years old and 1.88 meters tall, enters the market after a historic season with Windy City Bulls in the G League. He averaged 29.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 7.6 assists, shooting 51% from the field and 38% from three-point range, numbers that earned him his second consecutive G League MVP award.
The achievement carries significant weight: he became the first player in the competition's history to win two MVPs. Additionally, during the season he delivered outstanding performances, including 54 points against College Park Skyhawks and 59 points against Birmingham Squadron, one of the best scoring performances ever recorded in the developmental league.
His name, however, extends far beyond the G League. McClung has become a highly recognizable figure to the general public through the NBA Dunk Contest, where he won three consecutive titles between 2023 and 2025, something no one had accomplished before.
The NBA, however, never quite gave him consistent opportunities. Since 2021 he has played 17 games in the league with the Lakers, Bulls, 76ers, Magic and Pacers, averaging 5.9 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists. Last season he played eight games with the Chicago Bulls, averaging 6 points in 13 minutes.
Until now, McClung had prioritized staying in the United States to fight for a stable spot in the NBA. But after his best season as a professional, his stance appears to have changed. Europe now emerges as a real avenue to secure playing time, responsibility and a leading role.
For any European club, signing McClung would have immediate impact. He would bring explosiveness, scoring, pace, ball-handling ability and an unusual media dimension. The big question will be how he adapts his game to the tactical and physical demands of the EuroLeague.
It wouldn't be just a spectacular signing. It would be a bet on real offensive production, with one of the most dominant G League players in recent years.
