Maccabi Tel Aviv Signs Keaton Wallace to Two-Year Deal

Maccabi Tel Aviv continues strengthening its backcourt. The Israeli club has officially announced the signing of Keaton Wallace, a 27-year-old American combo guard standing 6'3", on a two-year contract.

Wallace arrives after spending the last two seasons in the Atlanta Hawks organization, where he gradually earned playing time with a specific profile: defense, intensity, physicality to hold his own at both guard positions, and the ability to contribute without needing heavy ball-handling duties.

Last season he appeared in 53 regular season NBA games, averaging 3.5 points and 1.8 assists in 10 minutes per game, shooting 37.3% from three-point range. He also saw action in three playoff games against the New York Knicks, who went on to win the championship.

Maccabi is not signing a high-volume scorer, but rather a rotation player with toughness and basketball intelligence. Head coach Oded Kattash specifically highlighted his intensity on both ends of the floor and his ability to quickly connect with the team and the fans.

Wallace has already shown he can do more than just defend. In the 2024/25 season, also with the Hawks, he finished the year with a triple-double against the Orlando Magic: 15 points, 15 assists, 11 rebounds, and 5 steals.

Before reaching the NBA, he developed at UTSA, where he finished as the program's second all-time leading scorer, and played in the G League with the Ontario Clippers and College Park Skyhawks.

For Maccabi, this is another signing with a clear profile: a competitive guard with quick hands, the ability to defend point guards and shooting guards, and the potential to earn minutes through solid, dependable play rather than flashy performances.
