Surne Bilbao continues building its 2026-27 roster with the addition of Gipuzkoan small forward Manex Ansorregi. The new MIB player signs through 2028

Manex Ansorregi (Azkoitia, 24 years old, 1.95m) becomes Surne Bilbao's new small forward. The player arrives from Askatuak Gipuzkoa, a team with which he has averaged 9.1 points and 5.4 rebounds in 1ª FEB. He signs through 2028.

The player has had standout performances this season, including 16 points and 15 rebounds against Movistar Estudiantes and 21 points scored against Hestia Menorca in the penultimate game of the regular season.

The player, developed at ISB Iraurgi, achieved promotion to 1ª FEB with his hometown team in 20/21. After two strong initial seasons in the former LEB Oro, he signed with GBC in 23/24. With the Donostia-based team, he has secured a playoff spot in all three of his seasons.

Mikel Odriozola, assistant coach of Surne Bilbao, was Ansorregi's coach in both stints. In this latest season, it was another former MIB player, Sergio García, who has directed him from the bench. Additionally, Jaume Ponsarnau also knows the player after calling him up for the U22 national team that he himself coached.

Sports Director's Opinion
"Manex Ansorregi is a player with clear upward projection from whom we expect to bring a lot of energy both offensively and defensively. He is very good in transition and fast-break situations, and also in off-ball play. He stands out especially in rebounding on both ends of the floor. We expect from him a lot of intensity and the ability to bring us a high physical level. We are very satisfied with his signing. We hope that in Bilbao he can become an even better player"
