iLERNA Lleida adds another piece to its 2026-27 roster. Shooting guard Mark Hughes will return for his second spell with the burgundy-and-white club.
Mark Hughes will wear the burgundy-and-white jersey for the next two seasons. The shooting guard born in Youngstown, Ohio, joins iLERNA Lleida as a community player—thanks to his dual American and Spanish citizenship—and will experience a second stint at the Lleida club.
Hughes made his debut as a Lleida player in the 2021-2022 season, the year the team qualified for the ACB promotion Final Four held in Girona. That year, Hughes played in all of the team's games, 31 in the regular season and 6 in the promotion playoffs.
After his time at Lleida, Hughes played for Movistar Estudiantes (2022-2023), Hamburg Towers (2023-2024), and Coosur Real Betis (2024-2025), teams with which he competed in the playoffs and achieved promotion with Betis. With the German team, he also competed in European competition.
During the 2025-2026 season, he was with Bàsquet Girona, where he played in 34 regular season games with an average of 19 minutes per game, 8.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 39.4% from three-point range, and a rating of 8.5. His standout game came against Casademont Zaragoza, where he recorded 24 points, 5 rebounds, and a rating of 27.
