After struggling mightily in Game 1, the Oklahoma City Thunder recovered their best collective version this time, punishing rival turnovers and finding enormous production off the bench to avoid traveling to San Antonio with a dangerous 0-2 deficit.

The Oklahoma City Thunder finished with a dominant 57-25 bench scoring advantage and clearly dominated the turnover-to-points category, outscoring the Spurs 27-10 in points off turnovers.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander once again completely controlled Oklahoma City's offensive tempo after a quiet first game of the series. The Canadian constantly attacked off the dribble, found comfortable mid-range shots, and appeared in the decisive stretch when San Antonio threatened to mount another comeback.

Alex Caruso added 17 points off the bench in another crucial performance by the veteran shooting guard, while Chet Holmgren contributed 13 points and once again had important defensive moments near the rim.

Jared McCain and Cason Wallace each added 12 points from the second unit, reflecting the enormous competitive depth of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The San Antonio Spurs competed practically until the end despite arriving again heavily compromised physically. De'Aaron Fox remained absent due to ankle soreness, and Dylan Harper had to leave the game after suffering a right leg injury following several hard falls in the third quarter.

Even so, Victor Wembanyama once again sustained San Antonio competitively with another gigantic performance. The Frenchman finished with 21 points, 17 rebounds, six assists, and four blocks, constantly impacting both sides of the floor.

Stephon Castle added 25 points and Devin Vassell contributed another 22 in another strong offensive night for the Texas perimeter.

The Oklahoma City Thunder started the game much more aggressive from the opening tip and managed to better control the Spurs' offensive tempo. The defending champion especially punished the visiting turnovers and found tremendous energy from the second unit to open up leads before halftime.

San Antonio, however, never truly disappeared from the game. The Spurs cut the deficit several times during the second half and arrived completely alive in the decisive stretch.

A corner three-pointer by Harrison Barnes put the score at 99-97 with just over nine minutes remaining and created tension once again at the Paycom Center.

That's when the stretch came that ultimately decided the game.

The Oklahoma City Thunder immediately responded with an 11-0 run that completely returned emotional and competitive control to the defending champion. Jared McCain even connected on a three-pointer off the glass during that stretch that fired up the home crowd.

San Antonio still attempted one final comeback led by Wembanyama. The Frenchman scored near the rim to cut the deficit to 118-113 with 1:25 remaining and keep visiting hopes alive.

But Shai Gilgeous-Alexander appeared once more immediately after to score a decisive basket that ultimately cooled off the game and secured the series tie.

The victory allows the Oklahoma City Thunder to improve their impressive record after losses this season, where they have now accumulated a 14-5 mark after losing a game.

The series now travels to San Antonio tied 1-1 for a Game 3 that could be heavily impacted by the physical condition of Jalen Williams and Dylan Harper, both injured during this second matchup.
