Nou Congost finally has its first win. Kids&Us Manresa had to battle for 50 minutes against Monbus Obradoiro, who tied it all in the final minute, before JD Notae decided it with his eighth three-pointer in the second overtime. Diego Ocampo's squad, debuting Isaiah Mobley and Luka Ščuka, get off the schneid (1-6). Obradoiro, in their 500th Liga Endesa game, suffer their third straight loss.
A game without a clear leader through the third quarter
Notae warned from the start. His three-pointers opened the first home lead (13-8), and another at the buzzer tied the first quarter (19-19), after Obradoiro turned it around with Alejandro Galán's work in the paint. The second quarter was also back-and-forth: Hugo Benítez put Manresa up six (25-19) and a three-pointer by Leo Meindl gave Obradoiro a 27-32 that forced Ocampo to call timeout. At halftime, the Galicians led (35-36).
After the break, Manresa found its rhythm in transition. Pierre Oriola and Éric Vila ran for 46-38, the largest home lead, and a three-pointer by Ferran Bassas maintained the distance. The third quarter ended 55-48.
Soriano and Childress Force Overtime
Manresa reached a nine-point lead in the final quarter, but Obradoiro didn't give up. Soriano dominated near the basket in a 1-9 run that left the Galicians down one (64-63) with two minutes left, and a three-pointer by Childress put them up three. Notae answered with a tie and Childress missed the final shot: 73-73.
The first overtime seemed decided when Manresa went up four with 33 seconds left. A free throw by Soriano and a three-pointer by Sergi Barcello took the game to a second overtime (86-86).
There, with Oriola, Benítez and Aaron Ongenda already fouled out, Notae hit the three-pointer that gave Manresa the victory.
Soriano finished with 30 points, his best mark of the season if confirmed, and Childress with 23. For Manresa, Notae's 33 points were joined by 21 from Bassas and 17 from Oriola. Mobley (5 points) and Ščuka (3, in the starting lineup) made their Liga Endesa debuts.
