ago 31 2026EuroLeague launches a new competition with a star-studded lineup. The inaugural SuperCup takes place September 18-19 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, featuring four teams, a Final Four format, and a new trophy on the line. Single-day tickets went on sale Monday.
The Lineup
The tournament brings together Olympiacos, the reigning EuroLeague champion; Fenerbahce Tarfin Istanbul, 2025 champions; Real Madrid, 2026 finalists and the competition's all-time winningest team with eleven continental titles; and Dubai Basketball as the UAE representative.
The semifinals take place Friday, September 18. The first matchup features the two most recent champions, Olympiacos and Fenerbahce, at 16:00 CET. The second pits Dubai against Real Madrid at 19:00 CET. The winners meet Saturday, September 19 at 19:00 CET in the inaugural final, preceded by the third-place game at 16:00 CET.
The Game That Matters Here, and Its Context
The Madrid-Dubai matchup arrives at a particularly sensitive moment. EuroLeague has just opened a disciplinary case against the UAE club over the Thomas Walkup situation, after Olympiacos reported improper contact with the player. In other words: the inaugural competition brings together the accusing club, the accused club, and the governing body investigating the case.
For Dubai, the tournament represents a near home debut in its second EuroLeague season, and they'll do so with a roster bolstered this summer through significant spending, including Toko Shengelia from Barcelona and Elie Okobo and Jaron Blossomgame from Monaco.
Facing them will be a Real Madrid team in transition, with Pedro Martínez making his head coaching debut, seven interior options following the recent addition of Damian Jones, and a preseason that began with a loss to Río Breogán in Pontevedra.
Pricing and Ticket Sales
Tickets are sold exclusively through the Etihad Arena website. Friday's matchday, featuring both semifinals, ranges from €55 to €138 depending on seating category. Saturday's matchday, with the third-place game and final, runs from €102 to €256. Four-game passes remain on sale between €143 and €359, subject to availability, and VIP packages are also available.
