Oriol Paulí Named Player of the Week 27 in Liga Endesa 2025-26

After 12 seasons and 343 league games, Oriol Paulí achieves Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career following a dominant J27 performance, setting personal highs in points (27), assists (7), and rating (35). A historic display!

Oriol Paulí will take a long time to forget April 19, 2026, the date on which he completed one of the best games of his basketball career.

The Hiopos Lleida player led his team to victory in the Catalan derby against Barcelona (90-80), securing the 10th league win for Gerard Encuentra's squad.

Paulí started the game very active, with 6 points, 3 assists and a rating of 10 in the 8 minutes he played in the first quarter.

Although he was more subdued in the second quarter (-1 rating, with 2 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist), Oriol saved the best of his game for after halftime. In the third quarter, Paulí was key to Hiopos Lleida's comeback (24-15 in that period, from -5 to +4 on the scoreboard), with 9 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 14 rating points.

In the final quarter, the Catalan wing was superb again, sealing his team's victory with 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 12 rating points.

At the end of the game, Oriol Paulí's stat sheet was impressive, with a perfect 7/7 from the free throw line, plus a solid 7/10 from two-point range and 2/5 from three-point range, for a total of 27 points, his best scoring output in the competition. On top of that, he broke his own assist record (7), with 6 rebounds (all defensive) and a steal to cap it off.

In total, the 31-year-old guard reached 35 rating points—another career high in the ACB—to earn Player of the Week 27. His first-ever nomination in Liga Endesa came in a game in which he played 37 minutes and 18 seconds, with a +17 while on the court and a -7 in the scarce 2:42 he spent on the bench.

Paulí's numbers go far beyond the rating, which is already the second-highest by a Hiopos Lleida player in Liga Endesa, behind Melvin Ejim's 39 this season. That 27-6-7, precisely against Barcelona, the team where he developed and played two seasons (2022-24), is the 4th in history by a Spanish player. Only Marco, Villacampa and Creus have achieved it.

Furthermore, throughout this century, only Bell-Haynes, Montero, Feliz, Perry and Miller-McIntyre have posted similar numbers, confirming just how historic Oriol Paulí's performance was.
