Patrick Beverley could play next season in France. According to BeBasket, the American point guard is in advanced negotiations with Boulazac Basket Dordogne, a Betclic Élite team, although the deal is not yet finalized.
It would be a striking move for the French league. Beverley is 38 years old, stands 1.85 meters tall, and has accumulated a heavyweight NBA career: 666 games, twelve seasons, nine playoff appearances, and three selections to the league's All-Defensive teams.
He also arrives with a strong connection to European basketball. Before establishing himself in the NBA, he played for Olympiacos, and in recent years he has returned to compete in Europe. With Hapoel Tel Aviv, he won the EuroCup championship in 2024/25, and later played for PAOK, with whom he reached the FIBA Europe Cup final.
Last season, in that competition with PAOK, he averaged 9.3 points, 4 rebounds, and 3.3 assists, according to FIBA data.
For Boulazac, it would be an acquisition of enormous impact. The club already made waves with the arrival of Tony Snell, and now it is trying to repeat a high-profile operation with a player who, beyond the numbers, brings personality, defense, experience, and a big name.
The question remains about the real state of negotiations and the role Beverley would be willing to assume. At this stage of his career, he is no longer the same player who shook up NBA playoff series, but he remains a competitive, disruptive point guard with enough experience to change the tone of a team.
