Real Madrid 120-83 Kids&Us Manresa: Sarr Leads Dominant Display

Por ·

Real Madrid's leading scorer was the player who sees the least minutes. Olivier Sarr, a center with limited playing time early in the season, finished with 16 points in a morning where the white team distributed everything: nine players surpassed a rating of 10 and none had to carry the game. The 120-83 victory over Kids&Us Manresa, who arrived as the league's bottom team, keeps Madrid unbeaten in the Liga Endesa and gives them breathing room before a week with three games.

official statistics

The opponent invited caution. Manresa has been in recent years one of the most uncomfortable visitors to the Movistar Arena: they won in two of their five previous visits. One of those victories, in March 2024, was Madrid's last home loss before the streak of 37 consecutive home wins, the longest in ACB history. This time there was none of that.

A 14-1 run to break it open

The game remained tied for three minutes. Timmy Allen tied it at eight with a three-pointer and, from there, Madrid tightened their defense and started to run. Gabriele Procida and Facundo Campazzo almost single-handedly put together a 14-1 run that changed the tone of the morning: the Italian scored seven points in that stretch and the Argentine, five. Procida finished with 15 points and was, along with Sarr, the most decisive player of the game.

Benítez made the first quarter look better with a basket at the buzzer (34-22), but Manresa's respite was short-lived. In the second quarter Madrid found the outside accuracy that had been missing at the start and took control of the defensive rebound, which allowed them to run the fast break over and over. A three-pointer by Mikael Jantunen put the difference above twenty points and at halftime it was already 24 (62-38).

Minutes for everyone

With the game decided, Sergio Scariolo was able to distribute minutes and give rest to Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot. The second half allowed the less regular players to have their moment. Sarr took advantage in the paint and Madrid reached a 30-point lead (86-56) at the end of the third quarter, though without the outside accuracy of the second quarter. Jaime Pradilla, with 10 points, and Sergio Llull, with 7, also made their contribution in an afternoon in which twelve Madrid players scored.

The final quarter, the only one Manresa didn't lose by much (34-27), was directed by Jantunen without the scoreboard ever being in danger. Minchev, with 13 points, and Agbo, with 12, were the only ones who kept the scoring pace for a Manresa team that continues searching for their first victory.
