Real Madrid left no room for doubt against Surne Bilbao. The white team settled the game in the first quarter with a devastating 36-13 run that made the rest of the afternoon a formality. They won 119-84 and maintain their perfect record after four matchdays. They led on the scoreboard for all 40 minutes except the opening seconds and built a lead as large as 41 points.
A first quarter to forget in Bilbao
The start was overwhelming. With Facundo Campazzo moving the ball at full speed and the outside accuracy of Alberto Abalde, Real Madrid scored 36 points in the first ten minutes, while Surne Bilbao, who arrived with a 2-1 record after winning in Badalona in the first matchday, could only score 13. The gap was already 23 points by the end of the quarter.
Bilbao recovered somewhat in the second quarter, but Real Madrid maintained the pace and went into halftime leading 62-35. The second half served to distribute minutes among a rotation in which no one played fewer than ten minutes.
Llull, the sharpshooter
The standout off the bench was Sergio Llull. The captain needed just 12 and a half minutes to score 19 points, with 5 three-pointers on 9 attempts. Alongside him, Theo Maledon posted 24 in efficiency rating (13 points and 7 rebounds), Andrés Feliz confirmed his great form with 14 points following his EuroLeague performance, and Damian Jones didn't miss any of his five field goal attempts to add 13. Campazzo, with just 6 points, orchestrated the offense with 14 assists.
