Sixty years of history and never a start like this. Río Breogán has won its first three Liga Endesa games for the first time since its founding, doing so during San Froilán week with the Pazo transformed into an extension of Lugo's festivities. The 115-92 victory over FIATC Girona leaves Luis Casimiro's team as the sole leader of the competition.
The game held few surprises, with almost everything decided in the first half. Breogán played at a pace Girona couldn't match and, above all, moved the ball like rarely seen in October: one pass, then another, and the shot to the open teammate. The halftime numbers tell the story: 71% from two-point range, 53% from three-point range, and 61 points scored—just six shy of the competition's first-half record, held by Valencia Basket with 67.

Though the offense grabbed the headlines, the difference was built on defense. Moncho Fernández's Girona started strong on the offensive glass and threatened in the first quarter, but Breogán's defense eventually suffocated them. Kasibabu was the engine of that effort, with three steals that ignited fast breaks. Fernández had to call two timeouts before the 12-minute mark, and neither changed the course. Josep Peris and Francis Alonso punished from beyond the arc, and Tevin Brown finished breaking the game open in the second quarter. Breogán led by as much as 23 and went into halftime with a 20-point advantage.
The second half was a succession of Girona attempts that Breogán answered immediately. The Catalans opened the third quarter with five straight points, and came close with a dunk from Danko Brankovic and a three-pointer from Aranitovic to cut it to 74-51. From there, the game had only one remaining storyline: reaching 100 points. Francis Alonso got there with a basket and free throw, and the Pazo celebrated the third victory as if it were the first.
