Latvian power forward Roberts Blumbergs becomes a new addition to Casademont Zaragoza for 2026-27. He signs a one-year deal
Casademont Zaragoza has reached an agreement with Roberts Blumbergs (28 years old, 2.08m) for the Latvian power forward to strengthen the team's interior game through June 2027.
Trained in Latvian basketball, he had his spell in German basketball and in the NCAA with Grand Canyon University. His professional debut came again in his home country with Valmiera Glass VIA. Palencia was his Spanish experience, while in recent years he has played for Greek side Aris, and Turkish clubs Galatasaray and Petkim Spor.
In fact, he is someone known to the 'Red Tide' since we faced him last season in the second round of the FIBA Europe Cup. Then, Blumbergs was one of the standout players for the Turks in both matches against us. In the Turkish league, his averages were 8.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 40% from three-point range.
He has been international with Latvia's youth categories (U16, U18 and U20) and subsequently has been part of senior national team rosters, establishing himself as one of the best power forwards in Latvian basketball. In the latest FIBA windows he has been one of the standout players for the Latvian national team and is currently training with his national team for this new round of FIBA European Qualifiers for the 2027 Qatar World Cup.
