Shane Larkin Between Red Star and Fenerbahçe: Efes Already Negotiating Exit

Por ·

Shane Larkin's future could be away from Anadolu Efes next season. According to 5th Quarter, the Turkish club and Red Star have already reached an agreement on salary sharing to facilitate a possible transfer of the American point guard with Turkish passport.

The agreed formula contemplates both clubs assuming €1.9 million of Larkin's salary during the 2026/27 season, reaching a total cost of €3.8 million. However, the operation is still far from being finalized.

The main obstacle is the player's own decision. Larkin prioritizes staying in Turkey and, in that scenario, Fenerbahçe has become his preferred destination. There is mutual interest between both parties, but Anadolu Efes is not willing to strengthen its biggest domestic rival, which seriously complicates that path.

At 33 years old, Larkin remains one of the most important names in European basketball. After spending the last eight seasons at Efes and becoming a club legend, the point guard faces one of the most important decisions of his career.

While Red Star already has the financial framework ready to sign him, the final word remains in the player's hands. Everything suggests that the coming weeks will be decisive in resolving one of the biggest sagas in the European market.
