It's a first. Liga Endesa and Liga Femenina Endesa presented the 2026-27 season on Tuesday in the same venue, with thirty-two male and female players sharing the stage at Endesa's headquarters. In Spanish basketball, where the two competitions have operated on separate paths for decades, the gesture carries its own significance.
Two meaningful moments
The parade of protagonists opened with Galicia, and not by chance: Leyma Coruña and Monbus Obradoiro arrive as newly promoted teams, with three Galician teams in the top tier for the first time.
The other highlighted moment came with the appearance of four players who won bronze at the Berlin World Championship on Sunday and showed up wearing their medals: Iyana Martín, Mariona Ortiz, Helena Pueyo, and Alba Torrens. Forty-eight hours after stepping on the podium in Germany, they were already at their league's presentation.

Elisa Aguilar, president of the FEB, summed up the meaning of the event: two competitions, two paths, and the same energy to grow the sport. Antonio Martín, president of the ACB, pointed in the same direction by noting that in these times it's important to be more united, and announced that eighteen rosters will compete this season.
The president of the Higher Sports Council, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribe, closed the institutional remarks by acknowledging himself as a basketball fan.
The dates that matter
Three practical details emerged from the event.
The Supercopa Endesa takes place this weekend in Badalona, on the 19th and 20th, with Asisa Joventut, Valencia Basket, Kosner Baskonia, and Barça competing for the first title of the season.
Liga Endesa kicks off on September 26 and 27.
As for broadcasts, DAZN carries all games, also available through Movistar Plus, Orange TV, and Vodafone. TV3 is joined this season by TVG, EITB, and Aragón TV to broadcast in open signal, each in its territory, the matches of teams from their region.
