Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot appears close to completing his return to French basketball. According to Sotiris Vetakis, the French wing has an agreement in the works with ASVEL Villeurbanne after an outstanding season with Baskonia in the EuroLeague.

The Frenchman, who had also attracted interest from other major EuroLeague market players, including Barcelona, would be heading to an ASVEL side preparing a major overhaul for the upcoming season. The French club wants to significantly increase its competitiveness and is already working on several important moves both in the roster and coaching staff.

In addition to Luwawu-Cabarrot, the French club is also close to signing Frank Ntilikina, currently at Olympiacos. According to various reports, the project will feature significant investment and could see Tony Parker take on an even more prominent role within the sports structure.

The French player's season at Baskonia has been one of the best of his European career. Established as the offensive reference for the Vitoria-based team, he averaged 18.2 points per game in the EuroLeague with an excellent 41.2% from three-point range, cementing himself as one of the most productive wings in the entire competition.

ASVEL also appears to have gained an edge over Partizan in the race for Armoni Brooks, another hot name on the market, confirming the ambition of the French project for the 2026-27 season.
