Olympiacos has secured one of the architects of its fourth EuroLeague title. Tyler Dorsey has agreed with the Piraeus club to extend his contract for two additional seasons with a significant salary increase to approximately €3 million per year, according to Greek journalist Kostas Chalvatsiotis.
The figure essentially doubles what he was earning previously. His previous contract, signed in the summer of 2024 for three seasons, paid him 1.8 million per year and was set to expire in 2027, so the extension will keep him at the club through 2029. The player himself had been requesting a salary increase since June.
A Season That Changed Everything
Dorsey's argument was written on the court. The shooting guard posted the best season of his European career, averaging nearly 17 points per game in the EuroLeague and shooting 40% from three-point range with more than six attempts per game, a performance that earned him a spot on the All-EuroLeague Second Team.
His name resonates particularly with Spanish fans for two reasons. First, the 37-point display with which he punished Real Madrid at the Estadio de la Paz y la Amistad, a personal competition record. Second, the Athens final: Bartzokas' team defeated the whites 92-85 to claim their fourth continental title, the first since 2013.
Before that, in September, he had already been named MVP of the Greek Super Cup final, and in the summer he completed EuroBasket 2025 with Greece's bronze medal.
Olympiacos Protects Its Core
The extension carries significance beyond the player himself. In May there was speculation about a possible Dorsey return to the NBA, a possibility that is now ruled out for two more years, and the club secures the continuity of one of the three or four pieces that sustained the title.
At 30 years old, the shooting guard born in Pasadena with a Greek passport further establishes himself among the highest-paid players at his position in Europe. Only the official announcement from the club is pending, which has not yet commented.
