Tyrese Martin Close to Joining Barcelona to Strengthen Perimeter

Barcelona is on the verge of completing the signing of Tyrese Martin, a 27-year-old American shooting guard/small forward standing 1.98 meters tall who would arrive from the NBA to bolster Barcelona's outside game.

Selected 51st overall in the 2022 Draft, Martin has alternated between the NBA and the G League in recent seasons, playing for the Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, and Brooklyn Nets organizations. His best season in the North American league came in the 2024-25 campaign with the Brooklyn Nets, where he appeared in 60 games, averaging 8.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 21 minutes per game, with a 35% three-point shooting percentage.

Developed at Rhode Island and UConn universities, the wing stood out in his final college year for his shooting ability, reaching an impressive 43% from three-point range, one of the qualities that has most caught the attention of the Barcelona organization.

Martin is a physical player capable of playing shooting guard and small forward positions, standing out for his defense, his intensity on the boards, and especially for his threat from beyond the arc. If negotiations don't take an unexpected turn, he will become one of Barcelona's final reinforcements for the 2026-27 season.
