Por ·

The NBA has announced the Players of the Week for the second week of the 2026-27 season, with two of the league's biggest stars taking home the honors. Victor Wembanyama wins the award in the West after a dominant week with the San Antonio Spurs, while Jayson Tatum claims the East award after leading the Boston Celtics to four victories.

Wembanyama, three games with 29 points or more

The French star played three games and didn't drop below 29 points in any of them. He started with 29 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks in just 27 minutes against the Kings. He followed that up with 36 points and 14 rebounds in Salt Lake City and closed out the week with his best scoring performance of the season: 43 points and 6 blocks in the victory over the Timberwolves, when he carried the team after a stretch in which the Spurs had been losing.

All three games resulted in victories, and San Antonio improved from 1-2 to 4-2. Wembanyama, who was also the week's leading shot-blocker, averaged 55% from the field.
