Hiopos Lleida started the game competing offensively, but defensive problems quickly emerged against a completely unleashed Río Breogán. The Galicians opened with an impressive 8-of-10 shooting performance and continuously punished the visitors from beyond the arc.
The first serious warning came with a home lead of eight points (20-12), forcing Gerard Encuentra to call a timeout. The coach was looking to slow down Río Breogán's offensive rhythm, but the home team continued finding solutions on every possession.
Five three-pointers made by the Galician squad in the first quarter made the difference against a Hiopos Lleida team that couldn't find their outside stroke.
