Baskonia's crisis continues with no end in sight. The Vitoria-based team lost in Villeurbanne to a direct rival in the lower standings and has now suffered seven consecutive defeats in the EuroLeague, all since Velimir Perasović arrived at the helm. With a 1-8 record, they remain in last place and increasingly distant from the middle of the table. Tony Parker's ASVEL, coming off a comeback win against Partizan, notches their fourth victory.
A first quarter that sets the tone
ASVEL punished Baskonia's weak individual defense from the start and closed the first quarter up ten (26-16). The three-pointer was their primary weapon: they made six of their first eleven attempts and reached halftime with the same advantage (49-39).

Baskonia closes in, Mills responds
After halftime, Baskonia came out with more energy and accuracy, cutting the deficit to six points. That's when Patty Mills appeared. The veteran Australian hit several three-pointers in succession that restored the double-digit lead, and ASVEL never allowed their opponent to get close again. In the fourth quarter, the margin exceeded 20 points, and Baskonia, plagued by turnovers and missed outside shots, could not mount a comeback.
TyTy Washington Jr. led all scorers with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Mills added 20 points on 5-of-7 three-point shooting. For Baskonia, Kenneth Faried posted 17 points and a 27 rating, Marcio Santos contributed 13 points and 5 rebounds, and Kobi Simmons added 12.
