Barcelona Accelerates Roster Overhaul: Juani Marcos Also Departs

FC Barcelona continues reshaping its roster for the 2026/27 season. After confirming the departures of Willy Hernangómez and Tomas Satoransky, the Blaugrana club has also announced the release of Juani Marcos, who had a contract through June 30, 2027.

The Argentine point guard and Barcelona have reached an agreement to end their contract. Juani Marcos thus closes his second stint at Can Barça, after joining Barcelona's youth basketball program in 2019 and spending several seasons on loan between 2021 and 2024.

The player returned in the summer of 2025 with the opportunity to be part of the first team, though his playing time was limited during the season. Still, he was included in 73 official games, in a season in which Barcelona ultimately committed to a significant restructuring of its sporting project.

Juani Marcos' departure adds to those of Willy Hernangómez and Tomas Satoransky, two heavyweight names in the Barcelona roster. Three moves that reinforce the idea of a cycle change at the Palau and open the door to a deep overhaul of both the perimeter and interior for the upcoming season.
