sep 30 2026Besiktas returned to the EuroLeague after thirteen years and needed two games to secure a win. They did it in style: 93-109 over Maccabi Tel Aviv in Belgrade, with seventeen three-pointers and surpassing 100 points in the competition for the first time in club history.
A game dominated from start to finish
The Turkish side struck from the opening tip. Conor Morgan and Jaylen Nowell got the scoring started, and three-pointers from Devon Dotson and Scottie Wilbekin pushed the lead to 10-18.
Maccabi responded with an 8-0 run led by Jaylen Hoard, Iffe Lundberg, and Jimmy Clark to cut it to six, capitalizing on Besiktas turnovers. But the first quarter closed at 19-27.
At halftime, 46-52, with one stat that explained the game: Besiktas was 8 of 11 from three-point range.

The third quarter sealed it
The decisive run came after halftime. Anthony Brown hit three consecutive three-pointers midway through the third quarter to make it 54-72, and Maccabi never threatened again. The quarter closed at 63-78.
In the final stretch, a free throw from Eugene Omoruyi and a three-pointer from Furkan Korkmaz pushed the lead to nineteen points.
The record numbers
Besiktas shot 20 of 32 from two-point range and 17 of 30 from three-point range. With those percentages, they reached 109 points, the first time the club has surpassed 100 in the EuroLeague.
Brown and Wilbekin, a former Maccabi player, each scored 20 points. Dotson added 17, Morgan 13, and Korkmaz 11.
For Maccabi, only two players reached double figures: Bonzie Colson with 17 and Jimmy Clark with 15.
Where it leaves each team
This is Besiktas's first victory since their return, after losing their opener to Valencia 94-96. Maccabi suffers their second loss after falling to ASVEL in Villeurbanne.
Next matchday, Besiktas hosts Barcelona and Maccabi visits Panathinaikos.
