Castilla's Cauldron Ignites a Scorching Matchday

Iberolea Palencia opens the matchday seeking to remain atop the standings on Friday night, and from there, challenges and excitement will continue to unfold with Covirán Granada's second home game, the arrival of leaders Cajasiete Gran Canaria at the solid HLA Alicante, an unbeaten clash at the Pazo between Ourense and Grupo Alega Cantabria, a rematch of debutants in Albacete, and the first major battle of necessity in Oviedo.

We're barely three matchdays into the competition and Primera FEB is already red-hot. A league in which its third weekend of competition will be packed with attractive matchups and where each game will have an almost vital character for its protagonists at this stage of the year.

Iberolea Palencia has added two solid victories in their first two games of the season and that's why Natxo Lezkano's men will arrive Friday night determined to keep their streak intact. A great opening game for a weekend that will begin to heat up from the Cauldron of Castilla and will mark the reunion of sharpshooter Spencer Littleson with his former team, Bàsquet Menorca, who haven't had results on their side in this start, but have shown good signs on the court. And that will be precisely the main weapon for Javi Zamora's squad to try to pull off a surprise on a night when they hope to reverse their momentum.

A game that will lead into an exciting Saturday packed with big matchups and with plenty at stake on the courts. Starting at the Palacio de los Deportes in Granada where Arturo Ruiz's team will reunite with their fans in the visit of Grupo Ureta Tizona, for whom the priority is nothing other than opening their win column. A duel that will precede the leaders' matchup, Cajasiete Gran Canaria, who after their 2-0 start will now face the toughest test yet visiting HLA Alicante, who are co-leaders and aspire to be the first team capable of defeating the first-place team.

At the opposite end of the map, Ourense Baloncesto will take the court at the Pazo for an unbeaten clash against Grupo Alega Cantabria. A showdown that will give one of the two the chance to establish themselves in the upper part of the table and, more importantly, securing 25% of the initial path to survival after three games played. An objective that will take a step forward with the winner of the Albacete matchup, a clash in which Bueno Arenas Albacete and Cajasol Coto Córdoba will reunite now in a higher category and with the peace of mind of having already added their first wins of the year. The complete opposite of the battle of necessity that will take place at the Palacio de los Deportes in Oviedo where Alimerka Oviedo needs to win to escape the last place and that group of the "winless" in which Fibwi Mallorca Palma also finds itself, arriving in Oviedo with the identical objective.

On Sunday morning, Son Moix will host another matchup with Palmer Basket Mallorca fighting for second place in the season after their winning debut on the buzzer in matchday one. And they'll do it against one of the teams that still doesn't know what it's like to win and needs to get a victory on the board as soon as possible. Caja Rural Zamora shares that need with Partizan de Fuenlabrada, who will arrive at Insolac Caja 87's court in a very similar scenario knowing that the Andalusians already have a step on them after securing their first-ever win in the category.

The matchday will close Sunday afternoon from the Movistar Arena with a game in which Toni Ten's men will play with "marked cards" already knowing the results of their fellow leaders. A matchup in which they'll fight for third place against a growing Inveready Askatuak Gipuzkoa.
