Coby White Signs 74 Million Extension with Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets have made a move following LaMelo Ball's departure. The franchise has reached an agreement with Coby White to extend his contract over the next three seasons for $74 million, according to ESPN.

The extension comes just days after LaMelo Ball's trade to the Minnesota Timberwolves and solidifies White as the new starting point guard for the Charlotte roster heading into the 2026-27 season.

The point guard landed with the Hornets on February 4 from the Chicago Bulls and, in just a few months, convinced the franchise that he could take on a leading role in the team's rebuild.

With this move, Charlotte's starting lineup is set with Coby White running the offense, Kon Knueppel and Brandon Miller on the perimeter, Naz Reid as power forward, and Moussa Diabate occupying the center position.

During the past season, he appeared in 21 games with the Hornets, averaging 15.6 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists per game—numbers that have earned him the organization's confidence to become one of the central pieces of the project.
