Cooper Flagg Leads 2025/26 All-Rookie First Team with Knueppel and Edgecombe

The NBA announced the best rookie teams for the 2025/26 season, with Cooper Flagg as the standout of his generation after leading the Kia NBA All-Rookie First Team and winning Rookie of the Year.

The Dallas Mavericks star headlined a rookie quintet that also included Kon Knueppel (Charlotte Hornets), VJ Edgecombe (Philadelphia 76ers), Dylan Harper (San Antonio Spurs), and Cedric Coward (Memphis Grizzlies).

Flagg, Knueppel, and Edgecombe were selected unanimously for the first team, confirming the enormous impact they had during their first season in the league. Harper also appeared on all 100 ballots, though split between the first and second team, while Coward rounded out the best rookie quintet of the season.

The five players on the All-Rookie First Team were also the only ones to receive votes in the race for Rookie of the Year, an award that ultimately went to Cooper Flagg after edging out Kon Knueppel in the final voting.

Meanwhile, the All-Rookie Second Team was comprised of Ace Bailey (Utah Jazz), Jeremiah Fears and Derik Queen (New Orleans Pelicans), Collin Murray-Boyles (Toronto Raptors), and Maxime Raynaud (Sacramento Kings).

The NBA will continue unveiling its individual awards in the coming days. This Friday will see the announcement of the best defensive teams of the season, while Sunday will be the turn of the All-NBA Teams. The Coach of the Year award will be revealed next Tuesday.
