Danko Brankovic Extends with Rio Breogan

The Croatian center will continue providing paint presence, quality, and depth to the blue team.

Río Breogán has reached an agreement for Danko Brankovic to wear the Lugo team's jersey for one more season.

The 2.17m tall, 25-year-old Croatian international is one of the competition's stars and was one of the pillars of the team during the excellent season that just concluded. Brankovic has achieved impressive numbers, averaging 11.3 points (69.1% 2P, 37.2% 3P, 79.1% FT) in just 17 minutes of play, 5 rebounds, 1.3 blocks (fifth in the league) and just over one block per game across 34 games in the competition.

His excellent adaptation to the style of play proposed by Luis Casimiro, his evolution and importance within the team and Liga Endesa, and his great potential make Brankovic's continuity one of the major pieces of good news for building the new sky-blue roster ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Brankovic's renewal joins those already announced for Mavra, Alonso, Aranitovic, and Andric, confirming the continuity of five important players, one per position, in addition to the coaching staff led by Luis Casimiro, which constitutes a solid foundation and reinforces a clear idea of continuity and stability in the celestial sporting project.
