Real Madrid's victory over Kids&Us Manresa (120-83) kept them unbeaten in the Liga Endesa, but the news from Movistar Arena offered little cause for celebration. Head coach Pedro Martínez admitted in a press conference that Gabriel Deck's left shoulder injury is more concerning than initially expected. "I imagine the club will announce it shortly. In principle, the injury is more serious than we thought. But I don't know exactly the timeline or the treatment he will receive," the coach explained.
The Argentine wing suffered the injury last Tuesday. Since then he has not played: he missed the European victory over Partizan and was also absent against Manresa, an absence that Martínez had already anticipated pending medical tests. Those tests appear to have confirmed the worst, although the club has not yet released any official statement.

The problem is not new. Deck already felt discomfort in that same shoulder in late August, during the qualifying window for the 2027 FIBA World Cup with Argentina. He was hurt in the victory over Puerto Rico (89-75) and, days later, had to leave in the second quarter of the game against Canada for the same reason, not returning to the court. The fact that the issue reappears barely a month and a half later explains the coaching staff's caution.
The absence comes at a bad time for Madrid, who face a week with three games between the EuroLeague and Liga Endesa and lose one of the wings with the most playing time in their rotation. We will have to wait for the official statement to learn the diagnosis and recovery timeline.
