DJ Steward Takes Over Point Guard Duties at Burgos

The American point guard joins Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos for the 2026/27 Liga Endesa season

DJ Steward (02/10/2001, Chicago, United States) will compete for Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos in Liga Endesa and the BKT EuroCup during the 2026/27 season. The 1.88m American point guard arrives at the Coliseum as one of the standout players from last season in the European competition, which he will rejoin alongside the Castilian club in the new campaign.

The player began his professional career in the NCAA, the American college basketball league, with Duke Blue Devils in the 2020/21 season. After this year, the point guard joined the Stockton Kings, the G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, where he competed for two seasons before heading to Canada with the Vancouver Bandits.

Between 2023 and 2025, DJ Steward was part of the rosters for Maine Celtics, Windy City Bulls, and Memphis Hustle, all in the NBA's development league, where he posted solid statistical averages. In his last season in the competition, the point guard averaged 19 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game for a 19.8 efficiency rating.

Last season, the American headed to Europe, where he signed with Trentino, competing in Italy's top division with 13.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game for a 12.5 average efficiency rating, and in the BKT EuroCup, where he posted 15.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game for a 12.8 average efficiency rating.
