Two of four unbeaten teams fell on Matchday 4 of the EuroLeague. Fenerbahce and Partizan lost their perfect records on Thursday, leaving only Panathinaikos and Valencia Basket atop the standings at 4-0. Real Madrid finally escaped the cellar the same night.
Two unbeaten, no doubts
Panathinaikos hosted Fenerbahce in the matchday's marquee game and turned it into a one-sided affair. The first quarter featured seven lead changes. Then Sylvain Francisco scored seven points in less than a minute and a half in the second quarter, and Nikos Rogkavopoulos added eight in under two minutes after halftime. The game was over (92-74). Mathias Lessort (19 points, 8 rebounds, 30 efficiency rating) and Nigel Hayes-Davis (19 points) led a team with five players scoring eight or more.
Valencia Basket also dispatched Hapoel Tel Aviv (93-82) without serious trouble. They opened with four straight three-pointers, led 47-40 at halftime, and broke the game open in the third quarter with back-to-back threes from Josep Puerto (74-57). Kameron Taylor (17 points) and TJ Shorts (15 points, 7 assists) led the victory. For Hapoel, Antonio Blakeney had a career night: 30 points on 8-of-11 from three-point range, but it wasn't enough for his team.
Madrid Gets Off the Schneid
Real Madrid arrived with an unprecedented 0-3 record and faced an unbeaten Partizan. They settled it in three minutes: a 14-0 run spanning the end of the first quarter and start of the second, featuring three-pointers from Damian Jones and Andrés Feliz, opened a gap (35-19) that Madrid never relinquished. They led 53-37 at halftime, reached a 20-point advantage (83-63), and finished 86-76 with ten players scoring five or more points.
Madrid made all 17 free throws. Partizan, coached by Joan Peñarroya, collapsed from beyond the arc: 3-of-20 from three. Even Carlik Jones's 19 points couldn't prevent their first loss.

The Palau Falls Silent
Barcelona had the game in hand: leading 65-55 at the end of the third quarter against Zalgiris, with Justin Robinson on fire (20 points) and Olek Balcerowski swatting shots. The fourth quarter was a collapse. Barcelona's offense stalled, rushed and without ideas, and the Lithuanians outscored them 16-33 to win 81-88. Carsen Edwards (19 points), Dustin Sleva (14), and Jonas Valanciunas (12 points, 9 rebounds) led a comeback that leaves Barcelona at 2-2.
Baskonia also couldn't get it done at home. They rallied from an 18-7 deficit against Besiktas, led 51-49 at halftime, and fell apart with just three three-pointers for the entire game. Scottie Wilbekin (24 points) punished from outside, and Chris Duarte's 23 points, including a perfect 15-of-15 from the free-throw line, weren't enough in an 84-92 loss. The Vitoria team falls to 1-3.
Ibon Navarro Leaves Pascual's Dubai at 58
The Spanish coaching duel in Dubai went decisively to Ibon Navarro. His Crvena Zvezda held Dubai, coached by Xavi Pascual, to 58 points—the lowest score in the club's EuroLeague history (58-77). Dubai stayed competitive for one quarter (21-16), but a 2-13 run early in the second and a 0-8 stretch after halftime left them without answers. Jordan Nwora led the way with 20 points. "It was a disastrous game in every aspect; maybe we were only in it for the first ten minutes," Pascual admitted, suffering his first home loss.
A French Derby Down to the Final Second
The closest game of the matchday opened the week in Paris on Wednesday. Paris Basketball led ASVEL by as many as nine on two occasions, but scored just one point in the final two and a half minutes. Tremont Waters stole the ball from Nadir Hifi for a 96-97 lead, Joel Bolomboy made a free throw (96-98), and Hifi missed the game-winning three at the buzzer.
Hifi finished with 30 points and Tyson Etienne with 27, both career highs in the EuroLeague. It wasn't enough against ASVEL, coached by Tony Parker, where Patty Mills scored 21 points. "This is our biggest win," Parker said.
Olympiacos, Virtus, and Maccabi
Olympiacos crushed Anadolu Efes (89-66) without ever trailing. They dominated the boards 49-31, with 21 offensive rebounds to just 8 for the Turks. Jean Montero led the way with 16 points for a team that led by as many as 23.
Virtus Bologna earned their first road victory in Munich (87-94). They started hot at 9-20 and led 21-35 after the first quarter. When Bayern closed to within three, Marcus Carr scored seven points in the final 74 seconds to seal it. Wendell Moore led the Italians with 20 points.
Maccabi Tel Aviv, playing as the home team in Belgrade, finally won. They beat Olimpia Milano (97-79) with a 7-0 run late in the third quarter that put it away (74-62). Yam Madar led Maccabi with 17 points, while Moses Wright (23 points, 8 rebounds) was Milano's only bright spot.
What's Next
