EuroLeague Matchday 5 Injury Report: Team-by-Team Absences

The best news from the Spanish basketball medical staff comes from Athens. Juancho Hernangómez, who missed Panathinaikos' last three EuroLeague games, is available again for Tuesday's visit to Partizan (20:30), a matchup marked by Zeljko Obradovic's return to Belgrade. The undefeated Greek team recovers an important piece in their wing rotation, though they remain without Kendrick Nunn and Kostas Sloukas, who have yet to debut this season. Center Moustapha Fall, however, made his debut last week.

Their opponent also arrives incomplete. Partizan, which has yet to submit its official injury report, continues to deal with the absences of Lamar Stevens, sidelined by a hand injury that has kept him out of the last two games, and Vanja Marinkovic, who has not played due to an Achilles tendon injury. Derek Willis will be out until late October with an ankle problem.

Spanish Teams with Absences

Barcelona hosts Maccabi without Justin Minaya and Yoan Makoundou, as confirmed by the club. Minaya played in the first three games but was ruled out before Matchday 4 for approximately ten days. Makoundou has yet to debut while recovering from a knee injury, with his return also estimated at around ten days. Josh Nebo and Tosan Evbuomwan, who made their EuroLeague debuts last week, continue to gain minutes in the rotation.

Real Madrid has not submitted its injury report for the Milan game, but Gabriel Deck will not play: coach Pedro Martínez acknowledged on Sunday that the Argentine's shoulder injury "is more serious than we thought." Usman Garuba continues recovering from the Achilles tendon injury he suffered at May's Final Four. At Baskonia, the only reported absence is Markus Howard, who did not dress against Besiktas and is negotiating a move to Zenit. Valencia Basket is expected to recover Mario Saint-Supéry, who missed Matchday 4 due to illness, against an Olympiacos team that arrives healthy with Nikola Milutinov already recovered.

Blows for Zalgiris and Crvena Zvezda

Zalgiris visits Fenerbahce without Nigel Williams-Goss, who remained in Lithuania with a hamstring injury, nor Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu. Azuolas Tubelis, who did not play over the weekend in the Lithuanian league due to knee soreness, will be available. On the other side, Sarunas Jasikevicius has his full roster, though Shane Larkin remains without a EuroLeague debut.

Ibon Navarro's Crvena Zvezda is the hardest-hit team of the matchday. In Villeurbanne they will be without Ebuka Izundu and Stefan Miljenovic, both with ankle problems, and Johnathan Motley, sidelined with a thigh injury. ASVEL continues without Mathis Dossou-Yovo and TyTy Washington, who have yet to play this season.

The Rest

At Anadolu Efes, Cam Payne made his debut last week, but the long-term absences remain the same: Mike James, out for seven to nine months due to an Achilles rupture, Isaia Cordinier, who underwent surgery in May, and Georgios Papagiannis, recovering from a torn ACL. Dubai continues without Dzanan Musa and Justin Anderson, and Davis Bertans did not dress in the last matchday. Besiktas will be without DaQuan Jeffries, who had wrist surgery, and Paris has Jared Rhoden and Frank Ntilikina in doubt after they missed both EuroLeague and French league games.
