EuroLeague reaches matchday 7 with three teams tied at the top with 5-1 records, and two of them face off on Friday. Olympiacos hosts Fenerbahçe at the Peace and Friendship Stadium in the week's marquee matchup. The winner stays atop alongside Panathinaikos if they deliver against Baskonia. The loser joins the chasing pack.
A clash of contenders in Piraeus
Olympiacos arrives in fine form. Last week they won in overtime at Palau (100-105) with 25 points from Sasha Vezenkov, who was named Matchday MVP, and previously they came back at Roig Arena. Fenerbahçe, meanwhile, has built their strong start on defense: against Partizan they set the EuroLeague block record with 14, in a game they won allowing just 65 points. It's a clash of styles between the competition's most reliable offense and one of the most intimidating defenses.
Madrid and Barcelona, on the road and needing wins
The two Liga Endesa powerhouses are at 3-3 and play away on Thursday. Real Madrid visit Maccabi Tel Aviv with high morale after demolishing ASVEL (111-92) with a stellar performance from Andrés Feliz, who hit 8 three-pointers. Maccabi comes off a win at Roig Arena and has shown they can compete with anyone.
Barcelona travel to Milan after a defeat that left positive impressions. Against Olympiacos they nearly pulled off the upset and only fell in overtime. Ahead lies Olimpia, who sit at 1-5 and lost at home to Dubai, but desperately need a win to avoid falling further behind.

Baskonia gets the most difficult arena at the worst moment. At 1-5, they're in last place, and in Dusko Perasovic's coaching debut they fell in Bologna despite mounting a 17-point comeback. Now they visit Panathinaikos, who lost their home unbeaten streak to Hapoel Tel Aviv and will want to bounce back in front of their fans.
Valencia look to react in Paris
Valencia Basket close out the Spanish matchday Friday at Paris Basketball. They arrive at 4-2, but after a forgettable week at Roig Arena where they lost to Olympiacos and Maccabi. Paris, at 1-5, is one of the worst-starting teams and comes off a loss in Belgrade to Crvena Zvezda.
Belgrade derby and Spanish stars across the rest of the matchday
On Thursday, Belgrade divides with Partizan-Crvena Zvezda. Ibon Navarro's team arrives with four straight wins and Partizan, at 3-3, need the derby to stay in contention. The matchday starts Wednesday with Juancho Hernangómez's Hapoel Tel Aviv facing Àlex Mumbrú's Virtus, two teams at 4-2. Thursday, Xavi Pascual's Dubai, coming off a win in Milan, visit Bayern, and Pablo Laso's Anadolu Efes host Besiktas in the Istanbul derby.
