Ferro Wins and Moves One Step Away from Semifinals

Ferro demonstrated solid play and took a 2-1 series lead over Regatas after winning 90-75. The game was played at Boca's stadium due to court issues at Héctor Etchart. Emiliano Lezcano led the way with 29 points

With balanced scoring, Ferro quickly distanced itself from Regatas. In just over 4 minutes, they built a 16-2 lead. The visiting team struggled to find rhythm, unable to score consistently from beyond the arc or in the paint with Gallizzi.

Leandro Ramella, Regatas' head coach, called a timeout and adjusted his team. He brought Jaime in to replace Aguirre at point guard, a change that paid dividends. The Corrientes team moved the ball better and scored, cutting into the deficit. Ferro, with some points from Lezcano, closed the first quarter 24-19.

With both teams' second units on the floor, the second quarter became more balanced in both play and scoring. Thanks to a flagrant foul by Defilippo, Regatas trailed 26-23 with 6:45 remaining. Lezcano converted a three-pointer and a layup to try to control the comeback. Regatas improved defensively on Hernández's absence, allowing them to tie at 31 with 3:20 left. With another three-pointer from Lezcano and a basket from Torresi, Ferro returned to form and regained the advantage, which they maintained until halftime: 40-33.

The game remained competitive in the third quarter. But Ferro became more aggressive. They took risks on defense and were able to run with Lezcano and Martínez. They built a lead: 51-38. Ferro's largest lead reached 13 points: 58-45. Corbalán on the visiting side was the only one providing points to keep the home team from running away. He scored 8 in just over a minute.

The home team dominated the rest of the quarter, but couldn't extend the margin. Up 12 points, they headed to the final break: 70-58, and up 19 just three minutes into the fourth quarter: 77-58, with Gallegos leading and directing the offense.

Corrientes couldn't score in the period until two free throws by Ramírez Barrio with 6:20 remaining. Regatas' lack of ideas and poor execution made it easier for Ferro to control the game. The difference fluctuated between 15 and 20 points. But there was never a moment of comeback for the visitors. Federico Fernández's team secured the series point with a final score of 90-75.
