Ja Morant Emerges in Potential Trade to Minnesota Timberwolves

Ja Morant's name is making waves in the NBA trade market again. According to journalist Evan Sidery, there is a realistic three-team trade scenario that would send the Memphis Grizzlies point guard to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In the proposed deal, Minnesota would acquire Morant, the Phoenix Suns would add Julius Randle, and Memphis would receive a package consisting of Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale, Donte DiVincenzo, and several second-round draft picks.

Morant's future in Tennessee is generating increasing uncertainty following several seasons marked by injuries, off-court issues, and lack of consistency. The point guard played just 20 games during the 2025-26 season, averaging 19.5 points and 8.1 assists, and has failed to surpass 50 games in any of the last three seasons.

Memphis's on-court situation is also fueling speculation. The Grizzlies finished a disappointing season with just 25 wins and far from contention in the West, while also making significant moves such as the departure of Jaren Jackson Jr. to the Utah Jazz.

All of this has sparked talk around the franchise about a possible rebuild or, at minimum, a major roster overhaul—a scenario that could definitively open the door to Morant's departure this summer.
