Jabari Parker Wants to Stay with Joventut: Penya Works to Resolve Partizan Exit

Jabari Parker's future is taking shape. The player has reportedly expressed his desire to continue with Joventut Badalona next season, though the operation still has several steps ahead before it can be finalized.

The American power forward arrived on loan to the green-and-black squad on February 26th and made an immediate impact. In Liga Endesa, he posted 12.3 points and 4.6 rebounds during the regular season, while in the Basketball Champions League he elevated his performance to 16 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. In the ACB playoffs, he maintained a solid line with 13.2 points and 4.3 rebounds across six games.

Parker's continuity is a very attractive option for Joventut from a sporting perspective, but it does not depend solely on the player's willingness or the club's interest. The first step involves resolving his contractual situation with Partizan Belgrade, with whom he would need to reach a termination agreement to become a free agent.

That process may include a severance payment for his departure, which adds complexity to an operation that will also require a financial effort from Penya. Still, the player's willingness to stay in Badalona and adjust his terms could facilitate the path forward.

Joventut, already eliminated from the playoffs after falling in the semifinals to Valencia Basket, is working on planning for next season with a clear foundation on the bench: Dani Miret will continue leading the team. Now, one of the major objectives for the summer will be attempting to retain Jabari Parker as an important piece of the new green-and-black project.
