Back-and-forth contest

The first quarter already gave hints of what was to come. After an even start, Girona pulled away with a 7-0 run sustained by Pérez's free throws (25-15). But Leyma responded with eight straight points, with three-pointers from Caio Pacheco and Kristers Silins, and only a three-pointer from Andrzej Pluta on the final possession left it at 28-23.

The second quarter ended tied (25-25) and Girona reached halftime with a minimal advantage (53-48). The third quarter belonged to Carles Marco's team, who won it 21-28 and took the lead (74-76) with ten minutes remaining, with Lukas Uleckas and Silins as key contributors.

Pérez delivers the verdict

The fourth quarter was a one-sided affair. Pérez continued scoring from distance and Girona imposed a 33-14 run on Leyma that turned a two-point deficit into a 17-point victory. The lead reached 18 points. Alongside Pérez, Damien N'Guessan had a perfect shooting night from the field (8 of 8) to add 19 points and a rating of 25, and Pluta contributed 11 points and 6 assists. Girona made 19 three-pointers on 40 attempts.

Leyma without an answer

Leyma Coruña, which had already lost at home to Casademont Zaragoza, returns home with its third defeat. Uleckas (17 points and 9 rebounds), Silins (16) and Alonzo Verge (12 points and 6 assists) kept the team afloat for three quarters, but in the fourth they had no answer for the home team's accuracy. Girona, meanwhile, climbs out of the lower standings despite absences of Pep Busquets, Isaac Vázquez and Maxi Fjellerup.
