Jassel Pérez turned Palau Girona-Fontajau into his personal stage. The Bàsquet Girona shooting guard scored 40 points in just 23 minutes, with an extraordinary 9-of-13 shooting from three-point range and a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line. His dominant performance rescued a team that trailed at the end of the third quarter and finished with an authoritative 110-90 victory over Leyma Coruña, powered by a 33-14 fourth quarter. Moncho Fernández's Girona notches its second win and leaves the Herculean side with a 1-3 record.
Back-and-forth contest
The first quarter already hinted at what was to come. After an even start, Girona pulled away with a 7-0 run fueled by Pérez's free throws (25-15). But Leyma responded with eight straight points, including three-pointers from Caio Pacheco and Kristers Silins, and only a three-pointer from Andrzej Pluta on the final possession kept it at 28-23.
The second quarter ended tied (25-25) and Girona went into halftime with a slim advantage (53-48). The third quarter belonged to Carles Marco's team, who won it 21-28 and took the lead (74-76) with ten minutes remaining, with Lukas Uleckas and Silins as their standout performers.
Pérez delivers the knockout blow
The fourth quarter was a one-sided affair. Pérez continued scoring from distance and Girona unleashed a 33-14 run on Leyma that turned a two-point deficit into a 17-point victory. The lead reached 18 points at one point. Alongside Pérez, Damien N'Guessan had a perfect shooting night from the field (8-of-8) to add 19 points and a 25 efficiency rating, while Pluta contributed 11 points and 6 assists. Girona made 19 three-pointers on 40 attempts.

Leyma left without answers
Leyma Coruña, which had already lost at home to Casademont Zaragoza, returns with its third defeat. Uleckas (17 points and 9 rebounds), Silins (16) and Alonzo Verge (12 points and 6 assists) kept the team afloat for three quarters, but had no answer in the fourth against the home team's hot shooting. Girona, meanwhile, climbs out of the lower standings despite absences of Pep Busquets, Isaac Vázquez and Maxi Fjellerup.
