Jeremy Sochan Signs with Portland Trail Blazers

Jeremy Sochan will play for the Portland Trail Blazers next season. The small forward has agreed to a one-year deal, according to Shams Charania, opening a new chapter after finishing last season with the New York Knicks, NBA champions.

Sochan arrives in Portland at an important moment in his career. He enters his fifth season in the league after a strange year with limited real playing time in the Knicks' rotation. In the 2025/26 season, he appeared in 16 regular season games with New York, averaging just 6.9 minutes, and also had minimal presence in the playoffs during the team's championship run.

His value isn't in what he did last season, but in what he can still recover. Before his time in New York, Sochan had already made clear in San Antonio that he can be a useful small forward through physicality, defensive activity, rebounding, and the ability to do multiple things without needing much ball handling.

In his four NBA seasons, the Polish-British player averages 9.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists, shooting 47% from the field. The three-pointer remains his biggest weakness, with a 28.6% career mark from beyond the arc.

Portland isn't signing a star, but a young player who still has room to rebuild his role. In a growing team, Sochan can find minutes, continuity, and an environment less urgent than that of a championship contender.
