The league leader had a tough night at the OAKA. Panathinaikos expected a comfortable matchup against Olimpia Milan, who arrived with a 1-6 record and five consecutive losses, but the Italians competed until the final second and forced the Greeks to decide it on the last possession. Kendrick Nunn, in his second game of the season after overcoming knee issues, was the decisive player.
Milan Refuses to Quit
Milan started strong, leading by as much as six points (2-8) thanks to their work in the paint, and closed the first quarter ahead (18-19). Panathinaikos responded in the second quarter with an 18-6 run, led by Nunn and Juancho Hernangómez, and built a twelve-point lead (39-27). But Milan didn't fade away: a 1-10 stretch before halftime, with Devon Hall hitting from three-point range, left the game at 40-37.
After the break, Italian defense changed the game. Lorenzo Bolmaro led the comeback (42-46) and, although Nunn restored the Greeks' lead, Milan entered the fourth quarter ahead (60-61).
