In January, Manresa delivered one of its most memorable European performances on this same court. This time there was no repeat. Bahcesehir College won 100-88 and remains the only undefeated team in Group D, in a game that Diego Ocampo's squad started losing in the first ten minutes and finished losing due to turnovers after halftime.
The Turkish start was a warning sign. Malachi Flynn opened with a three-pointer, Trevion Williams added a basket, and a 9-0 run forced Ocampo to call a timeout before his team scored. Manresa responded with Chubuzo Agbo, Nick Ongenda, and a three-pointer from Gerard Fernández (14-10), but Bahcesehir found its rhythm. Damien Inglis, Marcquise Reed, and Mateusz Ponitka combined for three consecutive baskets with fouls, and the first quarter closed at 32-20. Bahcesehir matched its first-quarter scoring record.

Allen Carries the Load
Manresa had its best stretch in the second quarter. Timmy Allen, the team's leading scorer with 21 points, made a layup and a three-pointer in succession, Rafa Villar forced Bahcesehir to call timeout, and the Catalan squad closed to 49-43 with another Allen three-pointer and help from Oriola. Ocampo's team grabbed eight offensive rebounds and committed just one turnover in that quarter, allowing them to stay within striking distance. At halftime, 53-44.
The comeback continued after the break, though with a setback: Manresa accumulated three team fouls in the first 36 seconds of the third quarter, which reduced their defensive aggressiveness throughout the period. Still, with Ongenda and JD Notae pushing, a three-pointer from Lukasz Kolenda brought the game to 62-59. That was as close as Manresa got. Bahcesehir punished from the free-throw line, with Ponitka and Reed, and closed the quarter at 76-66.
Turnovers Decide It
In the fourth quarter, Reed, the Turks' best player with 22 points, found Ponitka for a three-pointer and crashed for a steal-and-score to make it 81-66. Manresa accelerated and still closed to nine (86-77) with a three-pointer from Hugo Benítez and Ongenda's persistence, four minutes from the end. Williams and Flynn, who finished with 16 points, sealed any comeback hopes. The statistics tell the story: after committing just one turnover in the second quarter, Manresa had 11 turnovers after halftime.
The game was long and very physical, with 56 fouls and 57 free throws combined between the two teams. Manresa, at 1-2 in the group, hosts Roma on Tuesday the 20th.
