Kosner Baskonia won the first three minutes and lost the other 37. They started strong with a 14-2 lead, with Rokas Sedekerskis scoring 9 points without missing, but then faded against a Dubai Basketball team playing at a different pace. The final 79-93 score marks Xavi Pascual's team's first road victory in this EuroLeague season and leaves Baskonia with just one win in five games, after losing their last two home matches against Besiktas and now Dubai.
The game changed during a Pascual timeout. Back-to-back three-pointers from Mintz stopped the home team's run, Kabengele began to dominate the boards, and a three-pointer from Petrusev at the buzzer closed the first quarter 23-25. Dubai, the team that averages the fewest possessions and fewest points in the competition, had already taken control of the game.

"They're elephants"
The second quarter was a sluggish affair, full of fouls. Dubai got into the bonus early and Baskonia lived off free throws, with Chris Duarte and Marcio Santos as their best performers. During a timeout, Galbiati summed up what was happening to his team: "They're elephants, we need to move the ball." They couldn't manage it. Pascual's defensive switches clogged up Vitoria's offense, and at halftime the score was 43-44.
After the break, Baskonia spent nearly six minutes with their offense stalled. Dubai opened up a ten-point lead (45-55) and Kurucs picked up a technical foul. Two three-pointers from Duarte brought the team back into the game, but Bacon and Okobo answered each time, and the third quarter ended 62-70.
A 0-8 run to close the game
The fourth quarter was decided early. Dubai opened with a 0-8 run and the lead ballooned past 15 points. Duarte received his second technical when calm was needed most and fouled out at the 37-minute mark. Baskonia missed free throws and didn't score their first field goal of the quarter until five minutes remained. Their last comeback attempt fell short at a ten-point deficit, when a three-pointer from Diakité cut into it.
Petrusev led all scorers with 17 points, followed by Kabengele with 16. For Baskonia, only Sedekerskis (13) maintained the level of his hot start. In the stands, with 6,290 spectators, was Markus Howard before traveling to his new destination. Shengelia, Bertans, and Diakité, three former Baskonia players, won in their old home.
