EuroLeague 2026/27 Schedule Released: Key Dates, Classic Matchup, and Spanish Teams' Opening Games
The new season begins September 24 with 20 teams and 38 regular season games. Real Madrid will debut away at Dubai Basketball, while Barcelona and Baskonia open at home. Valencia Basket travels to Besiktas.

EuroLeague has officially released the 2026/27 season schedule. The competition will begin Thursday, September 24 and will maintain the same format as the previous season, with 20 teams facing each other in a double round-robin format for a total of 38 regular season games.
The opening round features several standout matchups for Spanish representatives. Real Madrid will begin their campaign visiting Dubai Basketball, while Barcelona will host Anadolu Efes in one of the marquee games of the opening round.
Baskonia will also debut at home against Olympiacos, the defending champions. Valencia Basket will enter the competition on Friday, September 25, traveling to Besiktas, the main addition to the next edition after taking the spot previously held by AS Monaco.
The opening round will also feature matchups between Hapoel Tel Aviv-Bayern Munich, Red Star-Zalgiris, ASVEL-Maccabi Tel Aviv, Panathinaikos-Paris Basketball, Fenerbahce-Virtus Bologna, and Partizan-Olimpia Milan.
First Classic on December 3
One of the most anticipated matchups on the calendar will be the first European Classic between Barcelona and Real Madrid. The two teams will face off on Thursday, December 3, in Round 15, with Barcelona hosting.
Before then, the schedule will feature other important rivalries. Round 7, scheduled for October 22, will bring the Turkish derby between Anadolu Efes and Besiktas and the first Serbian matchup of the season between Partizan and Red Star.
The Israeli derby between Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi will take place on November 12, in Round 11. Shortly after, on November 20, Olympiacos and Real Madrid will replay the 2026 EuroLeague Final in Piraeus.
The first major Greek derby between Panathinaikos and Olympiacos will be played on December 11, corresponding to Round 16.
Regular season ends April 16
The regular season will conclude on Friday, April 16, 2027. The top six teams will secure direct playoff berths, while teams finishing seventh through tenth will compete in the Play-In to determine the final two spots.
Play-In games are scheduled for April 20 and 23. The quarterfinal series, played in a best-of-five format, will begin on April 27 and may extend through May 12.
The Final Four will close out the season in late May. Semifinals will be played on Friday, May 28, while the championship final will take place on Sunday, May 30, 2027.
In total, the regular season will feature 380 games before the start of the playoffs. A particularly demanding schedule in which Real Madrid, Barcelona, Baskonia, and Valencia Basket will once again represent Spanish basketball in the continent's premier competition.
