The Canary Islands club strengthens its roster for the final stretch of the season after securing the signing of power forward Kevin Yebo. He arrives from Niners Chemnitz of the Bundesliga, where he averaged 15.9 points and 6.2 rebounds
La Laguna Tenerife has secured the services of power forward Kevin Yebo through the end of the season. The new Canary Islands player, a 2.07m center born in Germany with Ivorian nationality, with whom he has been an international, arrives from Niners Chemnitz of the Bundesliga.
Yebo (Bonn, 3/14/1996), who can play both power forward and center, comes off averaging 15.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 32 games played with his previous team in Germany's top division, where the club finished twelfth at the close of the regular season (16/18) recently concluded; in addition to having also competed this season in the Eurocup, where he accumulated averages of 17.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists for a rating of 18.5 in the 17 games he played.
Kevin Yebo began his professional career at VfR Limburg (2015-17), then played for Ehingen Urspring (2017-19), Hamburg Towers (2019-20), Eisbären Bremerhaven (2020-22), Niners Chemnitz (2022-24), Bayern Munich (2024-25) and again Niners Chemnitz this past season.
Yebo was one of the pillars in the FIBA Europe Cup title that Niners Chemnitz won three seasons ago. That same season he shared a team with Canary Islander Wesley Van Beck and was selected to the Bundesliga All-Star Five. Additionally, he has represented Ivory Coast's senior national team in FIBA World Cup qualifying windows for the 2027 World Cup.
The new Canary Islands player arrived on the island last night, underwent the required medical examination this morning at Hospiten Rambla facilities and is now ready to join the team's training group.
