Aaron Doornekamp will complete his eighth season with La Laguna Tenerife after reaching an agreement with the club to renew his contract for one more campaign
Commitment, daily work, and ambition! La Laguna Tenerife has reached an agreement with Aaron Doornekamp to renew his contract for one more season. The Canadian power forward will thus complete his eighth campaign in the Canary Islands project across two separate stints: 2016-17 and from 2020 onwards, with a three-year break in between spent at Valencia Basket.
A key piece in the successes achieved by the island club in recent years, Aaron averaged 7.3 points, with a 42.3% three-point shooting percentage, and 3.2 rebounds in the ACB; as well as 6.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in the BCL during the 2025-26 season.
Doornekamp's (Napanee, 12/5/1985) experience and quality have been closely tied to the milestones achieved by the Canary Islands squad in recent campaigns, while the Canadian with Dutch passport has set several historical records for the island club in different statistical categories.
In fact, Aaron is currently La Laguna Tenerife's all-time leading three-point shooter in the Liga Endesa (473), as well as the second player with the most games played as a Canary Islander in the ACB (251), third in the all-time rebounding ranking (956) and steals (222); and fourth in both valuation (2,163 credits) and minutes played (5,974).
