Liga Endesa Matchday 7 Preview: League Leader Hosts UCAM Murcia

Liga Endesa reaches its seventh matchday with a standout leader and a seven-team logjam at 4-2. Real Madrid has won every game and looks to continue that streak against UCAM Murcia, while the bottom half features two crucial matchups in Manresa and A Coruña. Additionally, the matchday could see the debuts of four recent signings.

Manresa and Obradoiro Open the Matchday
Saturday kicks off at Nou Congost, where Kids&Us Manresa (0-6) seeks its first victory against Monbus Obradoiro (3-3). Rubén Burgos's squad could debut Isaiah Mobley and Luka Ščuka, their two interior reinforcements, and have recent history on their side: they've won three straight home matchups against Obradoiro, who haven't won in Manresa since 2020. The Galicians, without Olle Lundqvist, arrive on a two-game losing streak and are celebrating their 500th game in Liga Endesa. Both teams shoot the worst three-pointers in the competition.

Girona Strong at Home; Lleida Face Baskonia
FIATC Girona is unbeatable at Fontajau (3-0), but hasn't won on the road yet. They host Surne Bilbao, who come off a win in Badalona, have Martin Krampelj back, and won their last visit to Girona (89-93). Moncho Fernández is without Pep Busquets and Maxi Fjellerup, with Jassel Pérez and Aljaž Kunc questionable.
In the evening, iLERNA Lleida hosts Kosner Baskonia in a matchup of extremes: the Lleida squad has the league's worst defense while the Vitoria team boasts the best. Velimir Perasović's squad arrives after their eighth straight EuroLeague loss, but in Liga Endesa they're 4-2 and have Chris Duarte and Kobi Simmons back. They lose Marcio Santos, who joins Sedekerskis and Kurucs on the injury list. Last season, Lleida won at Barris Nord (86-80).

Breogán at the Palau
Sunday starts at Palau Blaugrana. Río Breogán has won just once in 20 visits to Barcelona in the ACB era, in March 2024 (85-88), but arrives as the league's most efficient three-point shooting team and the second-highest scoring squad. Aleksander Sekulić's team is without Yoan Makoundou and has Olek Balcerowski back, with Mo Gibson and Juan Núñez questionable. At Breogán, Amida Brimah could make his debut if he receives federation clearance, Tevin Brown is questionable, and Dominik Mavra is four assists away from becoming the club's all-time assists leader.

Valencia Looks to Break Curse at Coliseum
Valencia Basket has never lost to San Pablo Burgos at the Coliseum, with six wins in six. But this season they haven't won as visitors at their own arena: they lost in the final second in the first matchday and in the closing minutes of the fourth. They come off a comeback in Milan with Armoni Brooks on a hot streak, though they remain without Mirotić and Reuvers. Recoletas Salud SPB loses Žiga Samar, in addition to Vlatko Čančar, and could debut Retin Obasohan in the league.

Huertas Faces Penya
Laguna Tenerife (4-2) hosts Asisa Joventut without Ethan Happ, who will miss about three months, nor Giedraitis nor López-Arostegui. The Canary Islanders have won 13 of their last 15 home games against Penya, though they lost the last one in May in overtime, which gave the green-and-blacks their playoff spot. Marcelinho Huertas could surpass Joe Arlauckas and become the eighth all-time leading scorer in the ACB era: he just needs one three-pointer. Penya, in their 2,200th game in the elite division, get Boogie Ellis back, but are without Hakanson, Tomić, and Reyes, with Eli Ndiaye questionable.

Knox Could Debut in Zaragoza
Unicaja visits Casademont Zaragoza, one of the season's best three-point shooting teams, with Kevin Knox's possible first appearance. To register him, Txus Vidorreta must leave out either Matt Thomas or Cameron Hunt, who has a sprain but, according to the ACB, will play. On the bench, Gonzalo García de Vitoria and Vidorreta reunite after sharing the coaching staff in Tenerife. Zaragoza gets Trae Bell-Haynes back, but won't have Homesley or Bango.

Bottom-Half Clash in A Coruña
Leyma Coruña (2-4) climbed out of the relegation zone by beating Laguna Tenerife and now hosts MoraBanc Andorra (1-5), who haven't won on the road. Alonzo Verge Jr., Matchday 6 Player of the Week, is the reference point for the Coruña squad, who will be without Tomas Dimša. Andorra only has the possible absence of Rafa Luz.

The Leader Closes the Matchday
Real Madrid (6-0) closes the matchday at Movistar Arena against UCAM Murcia (3-3). The white team arrives after losing in overtime to Panathinaikos and adds another absence, Facundo Campazzo, to those of Deck, Garuba, Maledon, and Jantunen. Murcia, who still haven't won on the road (0-2), have their full roster available and a good memory of their last visit: in May, the game ended 131-123 in overtime, the highest-scoring game in ACB era history.
