Liga U 2026-27: Participating Teams and Groups Confirmed

The second season of Liga U defines its path, with 14 teams distributed across two groups competing for the championship, which kicks off next Friday, September 25

Liga U now knows which teams will participate in the second season of its history. The competition, jointly organized by the FEB and the ACB with the support of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), faces its second season with groups already finalized according to the 2025-26 standings and following the approval this Tuesday by the FEB's Delegated Commission.

The 14 participating teams are distributed as follows:

Group A: Real Madrid, Barça Atlètic, Burgos Grupo de Santiago, Casademont Zaragoza, Fundación CB Canarias, Valencia Basket and Bàsquet Girona.

Group B: Kids&Us Manresa, Joventut Badalona, Amara Lleida, Bilbao Basket, UCAM Murcia Juver, Unicaja Alhaurín de la Torre and Obradoiro C.A.B.

The First Phase will have 14 matchdays: double round-robin within each group, with one team resting per matchday. Upon completion, the 7th place team from Group A drops to the Second Phase of Group B and the 1st place team from Group B moves up to Group A's Second Phase.

Before that, a single-game playoff: the 5th and 6th place teams from Group A face off against the 3rd and 2nd place teams from Group B. The winner plays the Second Phase in Group A; the loser plays in Group B.

The finish remains unchanged: the Final Six will be contested by the top four teams from the Second Phase of Group A, plus the winners of the matchups between the 1st place team from Group B and the 6th place team from Group A, and between the 5th place team from Group A and the 2nd place team from Group B.

Liga U 2026-27 begins on Friday, September 25, while the Final Six will take place between May 13-16, 2027.
