Knicks Sign Offer Sheet for Moussa Cisse; Mavericks Have 48 Hours to Respond

Moussa Cisse could change teams in the coming days. The center, a restricted free agent of the Dallas Mavericks, has reached an agreement with the New York Knicks to sign an offer sheet for two seasons, according to Shams Charania.

The deal is not yet final. As a restricted free agent, the Mavericks retain the right to match the offer and keep the player. Dallas now has 48 hours to decide whether to match the terms presented by New York or let the big man go.

The contract proposed by the Knicks has a low-risk structure: the first year's salary would be guaranteed only at 50%, while the 2027/28 season would not be guaranteed.

Cisse comes off playing the 2025/26 season with Dallas, where he appeared in 38 games and averaged 4.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 0.5 blocks in 13.9 minutes per game, shooting 57.4% from the field.

For the Knicks, it would be a depth play in the frontcourt: size, rebounding, energy, and rim protection without compromising too much salary cap flexibility. For Dallas, the decision comes down to whether they want to retain a young profile already familiar with the locker room who logged meaningful minutes in the rotation.

The ball is now in the Mavericks' court.
