Luka Bozic Named March MVP

The Covirán Granada power forward earns March MVP honors after averaging 18 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 26.8 efficiency rating per game

Two victories, two Player of the Matchday nominations, a long list of personal records, and the cherry on top of being MVP. Luka Bozic will take a long time to forget everything he experienced in March, the month in which he was the best in the Liga Endesa with 26.8 efficiency rating per game on average.

The Croatian player started the month without making too much noise, with a loss to Asisa Joventut and barely 16 and a half minutes on the court, in which he had time to add 9 points (4/4 free throws, 1/3 two-pointers, 1/2 three-pointers), 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 3 fouls drawn, and 9 efficiency rating.

From there on, it was madness. On Matchday 22, Luka Bozic shared Player of the Matchday honors with Ethan Happ, after accumulating 33 efficiency rating against BAXI Manresa, leading his Covirán Granada to victory with 20 points (6/11 FT, 4/8 2P, 2/2 3P), a personal rebound record (13!), 4 assists, 2 blocks, 10 fouls drawn, and 33 efficiency rating, with +13 in his 30:09 of play.

Next, the Croatian shined against the team that brought him to Liga Endesa, Valencia Basket, putting up 18 points with brilliant percentages (5/5 FT, 5/6 2P, 1/2 3P), 3 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block, 6 fouls drawn, and another personal record in assists (7!) for a total of 30 efficiency rating in less than 23 and a half minutes.

Finally, on Matchday 24, the player born in Bjelovar earned the honor of being Player of the Matchday, this time solo, after setting two more personal records in the competition. Against another former team, Hiopos Lleida, the power forward established new records in points (25, thanks to 11/12 free throws, 4/6 two-pointers, and 2/5 three-pointers) and efficiency rating (35), a figure he reached after adding 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, and 8 fouls drawn. Covirán Granada's third victory of the season bore his stamp.

In total, Luka Bozic averaged 18 points per game this dream month, with 81.2% from the free throw line (26/32), 60.9% on two-pointers (14/23), and 54.5% on three-pointers (6/11). Additionally, he guaranteed 6.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.5 blocks per game, surpassing the 30 efficiency rating mark in his last 3 games to raise his average to 26.8, a figure that earns him March MVP after surpassing the numbers of Ethan Happ (25.3) and David DeJulius (23.8).

At 29 years old, Luka receives his first Player of the Month nomination in Liga Endesa, leading a Covirán Granada team that has re-engaged in the fight for survival after their 2 victories in March. A perfect month for Bozic.
