FIATC Girona has signed Mac McClung to a one-year contract. The American guard arrives from the Chicago Bulls and their G League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls.
Matthew Ford McClung (Gate City, Virginia, January 6, 1999) is the new player for FIATC Girona for the 2026/27 season. The 6'2" American point guard/shooting guard arrives from the Chicago Bulls of the NBA and their G League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls.
McClung began his college career at Georgetown, where he played two seasons (2018/19 and 2019/20), before completing his time at Texas Tech University during the 2020/21 season.
After going undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft, he began his professional career alternating between NBA and G League contracts. Throughout this journey, he has been part of the organizations of the Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, and Indiana Pacers, combining his participation with their respective G League affiliates.
It is precisely in the G League where he has established himself as one of the most impactful players in the league. He was named G League Rookie of the Year in 2022 with the South Bay Lakers and has been named Most Valuable Player (MVP) on two occasions: in 2024 with the Osceola Magic and in 2026 with the Windy City Bulls. Additionally, in March 2026, he became the all-time leading scorer in G League history.
During the 2025/26 season, he played 40 games with the Windy City Bulls, averaging 29.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 7.6 assists, with an average rating of 28.6 and 38.4% three-point shooting.
He also completed a historic scoring season. During that course, he set the Windy City Bulls franchise single-game scoring record twice: first, on March 10 against the College Park Skyhawks, with 54 points (18/34 from the field and 9/18 from three-point range), and later, on March 24 against the Birmingham Squadron (19/34 from the field).
McClung is known for his success in the NBA Dunk Contest, which he won consecutively in 2023, 2024, and 2025. With this achievement, he became the first player in history to win three consecutive dunk contests. On the international stage, he is a member of the United States national team. He made his debut on August 26, 2022, in a FIBA World Cup qualifying game.
Statement from Fernando San Emeterio, Sports Director: "Mac is a player who can play both point guard and shooting guard. His main characteristic is his scoring ability; he has been a scorer throughout his career. He is capable of creating his own shots and scoring from the paint, mid-range, and also from three-point range. The attention he draws from defenses and his ability to break them down makes him a very good passer. He fits perfectly with our style of play and our identity. Additionally, he is a very competitive player, and we are delighted to have him."
